Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

½ cup shortening
1 2/3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
½ cup milk
½ cup chopped nuts
2 1 oz squares melted unsweetened chocolate
2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder

Sifted confectioners sugar

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs
Then chocolate. Sift dry ingredients together –
Add alternately with milk. Stir in nuts.

Form into 1” balls (Chill if necessary) Roll in confectioners
Sugar. Place on GREASED cookie sheets 2 –3 “ apart.
Bake 350 for 12- 15 minutes. Cool slightly before removing
From the baking sheet. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
