Teriyaki Steak Sticks

Prize-winning recipe, these are easy to make and very good. Perfect for either appetizer or entree at BBQs or cookouts.

1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. ginger
Wooden skewers
Cut steak across grain into long 1/16-inch thick strips.
In large mixing bowl, combine all remaining ingredients. Add steak strips and stir to thoroughly coat. Marinate strips for at least 2 hours.
Soak skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent buring. Prepare grill to medium heat. Thread strips on skewers and grill until cooked through, turning and brushing with remaining marinade. Serve hot.
