Paula's 7-Up Jello Salad

This recipe comes from another sister-in-law, Paula, and has been at many of our family gatherings.
 
2 boxes of lemon jello
2 cups boiling water            
1  12oz bottle of 7-Up

Mix together and let it slightly gel then add:

1 cup drained crushed pineapple
  (reserve juice to use in topping)
2 cups small marshmellows
3 bananas, sliced

Pour into a baking dish .... chill.


Topping:

1/2 cup sugar
2 TBSP Flour
1 cup of pineapple juice
1 large egg
1 large pkg cream cheese

For the topping, mix everything together EXCEPT the cream cheese.... cook until thick then add cream cheese and cook until cheese is melted, pour on top of jello mixture.

Chill.
