Brian Taylor's bourbon-pecan pie muffins

Taylor placed second in the Evan Williams bourbon cook-off with these simple bourbon-infused muffins
1 cup dark-brown sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans soaked overnight in ½ cup Evan Williams or other good bourbon

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together sugar, butter and eggs. Add flour, salt and vanilla extract. Pour off excess bourbon and stir in pecans. Bake in muffin tins, 26-30 minutes. Makes about 8 muffins.
